how did i finally get carrots to grow after years of fails?
Three seasons of digging, watering, and hoping—nothing but stubby roots and disappointment. This year, I switched things up. I sifted the soil like crazy, pulling out every rock and clump. Carrots hate fighting for space! I also kept the soil damp, not soaked, and waited until the seedlings were a couple inches tall before thinning them out. That part always felt brutal, but it made a huge difference.
Now, I’ve got a basket of lumpy, wild-looking carrots. They’re not grocery store perfect, but they taste amazing. Every bite is a win after all those flops. If you’re struggling, don’t give up. Sometimes it’s just about giving those seeds a little more room to breathe.
