My Cat Hates My Couch, Loves My Trash

Here’s the hack: Cut cardboard into 1-inch strips (fluting facing up), stack, glue, and boom—instant scratcher. If you’re clumsy like me and value your fingers, there’s a 3D-printed cutter that makes this way less murdery. Just slide the cardboard through, get perfect strips, and stack away. Sprinkle catnip if you want to see your cat lose its mind.
You can get wild with shapes—circle, rocket ship, whatever your cat’s vibe is. Decorate with safe paint or leftover fabric for bonus points. When it’s shredded, toss it in the recycling and start over. Sustainable, cheap, and your cat will actually use it. Win-win.
