why did i swap my old veggie patch for cedar beds this year?

This spring, I decided to switch things up and build cedar raised beds for my garden. I’ve always loved digging in the dirt, but bending over all day? Not so much. The new beds are the perfect height, so my back is super thankful. Plus, cedar smells amazing and keeps bugs away better than my old wooden boards ever did. I filled them with a mix of compost and soil, which made planting way easier. My tomatoes and peppers are already loving the extra space and drainage.
