Brianna Patel+FollowI don't know why my neighbor just threw road salt on my compost 😮💨I can't believe I have to deal with this right now. I just found that my neighbor threw a whole bunch of road salt all over my compost pile. I have no idea why someone would do this. I went out and tried to remove all the salt and debris. But then it started raining really heavily and I'm pretty sure it all just got soaked into the compost. I'm so frustrated. #NeighborProblems #GardeningFails #Composting #RoadSalt #NeighborhoodDrama 3072Share
PolarMuse+Followdid my compost just turn into a veggie jackpot overnight? So, I went out to water my garden bed and—no joke—there were little green shoots everywhere. Turns out, tossing kitchen scraps in the compost really pays off. I spotted baby tomatoes and even a rogue pumpkin vine. It’s wild how stuff you almost throw away can surprise you like this. I always mix my compost right into the soil. It keeps things loose and full of nutrients. Plus, you never know what bonus plants you’ll get. Watching these unexpected veggies pop up made my whole week. If you’re into gardening, try using your compost straight in the beds. You might get a surprise harvest, too! gardeningtips #composting #growyourown #happygardener #gardeningtips #composting #growyourown #happygardener #Gardening00Share
Brianna Patel+FollowComposting meat is how to get awesome compostI keep hearing people say you should never compost meat. Honestly, if you want some truly weak compost, go right ahead and follow that rule. When I turn my compost piles, the bacteria get to work so fast they don't give the meat a chance to sit around. It just gets consumed. I have seen meat disappear in as little as three or four days. It can smell pretty bad, but you do it for the microbes. You might be surprised. A few years ago I found a roadkill deer. I dumped everything except the bones into the pile and buried the deer in leaves. The pile ate through the leaves like crazy for about two weeks, going through something like 9 cubic feet per day for the first week and maybe half that for the second. The deer was gone after the second week other than the hide, and that was gone by spring. It produced a fine batch of compost. #Composting #Gardening #GardeningTips #Hacks #Controversial #CompostLife #Homesteading 10Share
David Hernandez+FollowY’all are really paying $20 a bag for compost? Why buy overpriced rot in a bag when your own trash does the job for free? I genuinely don’t get it. People are out here spending $20+ for bags of compost when they literally throw out the ingredients every day. Just pulled out my current compost batch and tossed in old tomatoes, coffee grounds, and some food scraps from this week. Gonna let it rest overnight before shoveling it all back in tomorrow. It’s smelly, messy, and a full workout — but I’m saving money and getting free exercise out of it. #Composting #FrugalLiving #SustainableLiving #GardenHacks #OrganicGardening #ZeroWaste #Homegrown 10Share
