North America finally dropped a sci-fi that actually slaps: Companion

This is hands down the most fun I’ve had at the theater all year. After weeks of Cannes/Oscar-core slow burns, this felt like a full-body reset. Think Gone Girl meets Ex Machina, but with actual energy. It’s not hard sci-fi, but the character writing is tight. Every little moment gets a callback. The soundtrack goes hard. Sophie Thatcher? Killed it—like Anya Taylor-Joy but with extra bite. Oh, and it’s a debut. Drew Hancock, who are you? This is too smooth to be your first. The second storyline? Shockingly solid. Yeah, some of the human-AI stuff is a stretch, but that messiness somehow makes it more human. Not perfect sci-fi, but a perfect ride. Go see it. #entertainment #movie #debutfilm
