why did my puppy freak out during his first bath?

Bathing a puppy for the first time felt like prepping for a mini water park disaster. I set up the kitchen sink, tossed on my oldest t-shirt, and gathered every towel in the house. Before any water touched his fur, I let him sniff around and play in the empty sink. Treats and praise were my secret weapons. When I finally turned on the water, he froze. I kept the water lukewarm and poured it slowly, but he still looked at me like I’d betrayed him. The shampoo part was a slippery mess—he tried to leap out twice! I kept my voice calm and handed out treats like candy. Rinsing took forever because I didn’t want soap left behind. Afterwards, he shook water everywhere, but the towel cuddles made up for it.
