Jessie+Follow🧗♀️Checked out the biggest climbing gym in the US 🇺🇸Finally made it to Pacific Pipe — officially the biggest climbing gym in the US! Some say Asia’s largest gym (Rock Hour in China) is big, but nope… this one’s bigger 😤 It’s in Oakland, Bay Area — super spacious and super well-designed: • 1st floor has two top rope areas, a massive bouldering section, plus machines & warm-up zones • 2nd floor has moonboard, K-board, more bouldering, and even a top rope wall just for kids The rainbow colors all over the place? Just makes everything feel more fun 🌈 (Pics don’t do it justice but you get the vibe) Also — members can bring a friend to climb for free every month! Love that. It was busy on the weekend but honestly, climbing really is a mainstream sport here in the US. Even the 5.9s felt spicy. First time on autobelay and I was legit scared to let go at the top 😅 The routes were cool though — very crimpy, very thinky. 🧗♀️ Edgeworks Seattle Smaller gym, but nice vibe. More bouldering, less rope. I somehow sent my first 5.10 here (??). Also saw a girl lead the ceiling route like it was nothing — queen behavior. Instead of regular holds, the wall was made of picture frames, mirrors, vases, even bird cages and deer heads (yes really). Super stylish, super weird — in the best way. Turns out it’s designed by Nendo, the famous Japanese design studio, and it’s part of the Illoiha gym. They wanted to make climbing feel more fun, more fashionable, more approachable. And honestly? It works. I saw a few people try climbing for the first time just because it looked cool. I love the idea of turning something sporty into something stylish. This year I tried top rope, and finally got it. When I’m up there, I’m so focused I forget everything else. I used to overthink every move. Now I just go.
