Eska is a beautiful 5-year-old Samoyed with soulful eyes, a gentle spirit, and the sweetest little personality.
Eska is discovering what it means to simply be a dog. She’s still decompressing from all the recent changes in her world, but every day she gets a little braver, a little more relaxed, and a little more herself.
She’s doing really well with potty training with regular trips outside and only a few accidents while adjusting to her new routine. She’s also doing great in her kennel and settles nicely there. She sleeps quietly in her kennel all night.
Eska has been wonderful with our resident dogs. She’s gentle, respectful, and easygoing around other dogs, with no signs of food or resource guarding.
One of the most rewarding parts of fostering Eska has been watching her confidence grow day by day. She’s now happily taking treats from your hand, and once she feels safe with you, her affectionate side really shines. She quickly becomes the sweetest little Velcro dog and loves being close to her people. If you sit down, chances are Eska will be right there beside you.
Eska’s coat is also still a bit of a work in progress. We’ve brushed out much of her undercoat, and while she still has all the beauty of a classic Sammy, her outer coat is currently a little short and sparse in places, and you may notice thinner areas where you can see through to her skin. Based on experience with other dogs, we expect that with time, good nutrition, and regular care, her coat will continue to fill in and improve significantly over the next few months.
