The cedar base is nice, but you definitely have to be in a “don’t talk to me” mood to wear it. Then there’s For Rest from Nonfiction — sharp cypress and yuzu up top, settles into this soft, polite wood with maybe a whisper of rose. Big energy, a little theatrical. The Afternoon of a Faun one is quieter, but it unfolds in layers. Gentle, restrained, kind of like it’s hiding something warm underneath. I feel like it’s universally nice. There are 8 million reviews out there already anyway. Acqua di Parma – Bergamotto Smells like a lemon that’s about to burst. Tried it with a friend at the counter, and this one hit the hardest from the whole Blu Mediterraneo line. Acqua di Parma – Colonia Pura It smells cold. Like, emotionally distant. Cap is loose and the packaging flakes a bit, but I still love it lol. Dior Sauvage Same perfumer as Colonia Pura. Also: I love grapefruit. I blind bought it and had zero regrets. Addictive. Acqua di Rosa – Uomo If Eau Fraîche had a wild twin — sharp, citrusy, almost aggressive. But in a fun way. Cerruti 1881 Lemon + lavender. Gets woodier later. Fresh but also soft. Guerlain – Eau de Guerlain Citrus + green floral = a bit elegant? It smells like a garden in a linen shirt. Atelier Cologne – Pomélo Paradis Amazing first spray, but then it kind of tries too hard?? Still nice, but feels like it’s performing. Acqua di Rosa – Rosa Smells exactly like the detergent my mom used when I was a kid. Like sun-dried t-shirts on a clothesline.
