Usually, my grapevine is just for looks—let’s be real, the weather isn’t exactly Mediterranean. But this summer? Total surprise. The sun stuck around, and suddenly my vine exploded with fruit. I started watering more regularly and made sure the roots stayed cool with mulch. I also pruned the vine early in the season to keep it healthy. Turns out, those little steps made a huge difference. Now I’m snacking on homegrown grapes and even thinking about trying to make a little wine. If you’ve got a vine, don’t give up! For a second, I thought they were just new leaves, but nope—they’re actually the start of grape flowers! Super exciting, because last year I barely got any fruit. Turns out, the trick is to give the vines plenty of sunlight and not to overwater. I also trimmed back some of the older branches in early spring, which seemed to help a lot. Now, seeing those little clusters, I feel like all the patience is finally paying off.
