White Gravy vs. Béchamel: Why the Drama? 🤔
White gravy is basically a Southern staple—creamy, peppery, and made with meat drippings. Béchamel, on the other hand, is the French classic, smooth and buttery. Tried both, and honestly, the difference is subtle except for the flavor from the drippings and the extra spice in white gravy. Saw a bunch of Europeans online calling white gravy gross, but it’s almost the same as béchamel! Had biscuits and gravy at a diner last week, and it just hit the spot. Not sure why people get so dramatic about it. It’s just sauce, people!
