Brianna Patel+FollowMy contractor's guy tried to stay the night at my new house 😮💨So I hired a contractor to paint the inside of our new home. We have not moved in yet, so the place is completely empty. A couple of guys were working for the day. One of them stayed very late, and I started to get a weird feeling about it. When I left after dinner, I noticed a big duffle bag outside with toothpaste in the side pocket. I texted the contractor to ask what was going on. He said they were just working late to finish the job. Then, he just casually mentioned that he fully intended for the guy to stay the night in the house. I honestly cannot believe he planned for this guy to stay overnight without ever asking or confirming with me. I am completely weirded out by this. Am I overreacting, or is this a huge red flag? I am hoping someone can tell me if this is normal although it definitely does not feel normal at all. #ContractorIssues #HomeImprovement #RedFlags #HelpNeeded #HomeSecurity #HomeDecor #Home 1651Share
Joseph Norris+FollowWhat Is This Tiny Cabinet For?I have a house built in 1936 with a wet bar. There is this tiny cabinet that is making me so curious. The door is about eight by six inches and the cabinet itself is not very deep maybe also eight inches. The house is located in a southern state in the US. I am hoping someone out there knows what it is. #HouseHistory #OldHouseLove #InteriorDesign #Mystery #HomeRenovation #WetBar #WhatIsThis #Home #HomeDecor 112149Share

Mrs. Andrea Ayala+FollowHOW TO MAKE A POM POM RUG THE EASY WAY – IT’S SO FLUFFY!🌼🧵 How to Make a Pom Pom Rug the Easy Way! 🌼🧵 💡 The trick to making pom poms four times faster is all in how you wind the yarn around the pom pom maker. Use multiple strands of yarn simultaneously to speed up the process even more. 🎨 Materials & Tools: - Three different colors of yarn for the flower pattern - Yellow yarn for the centers - Cotton yarn for contrast - Scissors - Large pom pom maker (highly recommended for time-saving) 🧶 Choosing the Right Yarn: - The thickness of the yarn determines the look and the time required. - A bulky-thickness yarn (size 5) gives a fluffy look and speeds up the process. - Avoid chunky yarn if you want a rug that's easy to walk on. 🧶 Pom Pom Count: - The rug requires 15 skeins of yarn and about 125 pom poms. - Each skein makes approximately nine 2.5-inch pom poms. 🔍 Backing Options: - The honeycomb-style rug backing is recommended for its spots to attach the pom poms, padding, and non-slip features. - Adding a second layer of rug backing reinforces the rug and enhances longevity. ⏰ Tips for Making Pom Poms: - Use a pom pom maker or DIY with toilet paper rolls or cardboard tubes. - Wind more than one strand of yarn simultaneously. - Trim pom poms with sharp scissors for a clean look. 🛁 Care Instructions: - Use washable acrylic yarn or ensure 100% washable yarn is used. - Tie the pom pom strings tightly to prevent them from coming apart during washing. - Protect the rug in a covering and lay it flat to dry. ❗️ Considerations: - Pom poms are fluffy but the centers can be hard. - Fluffier pom poms with tight ties make for a less comfortable walking surface. - The rug is better suited for decorative use rather than heavy walking areas. 🐶 Fun Fact: - The fluffy rug may attract pets! Keep an eye on them to prevent the pom poms from being detached. 🌼 Happy pom-pom making! 🌼 #DIY #PomPomRug #Crafting #PomPomMaker #YarnCraft #Decor #FluffyRugs #Handmade #HomeDecor #Creative40Share
Brianna Patel+FollowThe Home Design Trends I Think We’ll All Regret Sooner Than We ThinkHonestly, some of the home design I’ve seen in friends’ houses or even in my own past projects already feels dated very quickly. Like, painting over brick in solid grey or white is a big one. Unless the brick is truly ugly to begin with, staining or limewashing usually keeps the texture and charm. A flat coat of paint can make it look more like a toy than a home. Or electric fireplaces are another example. Where I live, power outages happen every year in storms. If the fireplace can’t work when the lights are out, it’s basically just a decoration. Then there’s the whole open bathroom trend with no doors and giant freestanding tubs. They’re awkward to get in and out of and a nightmare to clean behind. Showers without doors just mean water everywhere and slippery floors, which is dangerous for anyone, especially kids or older family members. And finally that whole Pinterest-inspired trim overload. Adding trim or paintings in the middle of EVERY wall, EVERY room, so annoying What do you think of these? I bet you also have some opinions on design choices that are bound to be outdated 😂 You know how annoying those designs are #HomeDesign #InteriorTrends #DesignFails #HomeDecor #RenovationTips #Home 3913Share

Thomas Woods+FollowAnyone know what these circles on the stairs are? I just spackled over themI didn’t overthink it and just filled them in and moved on. My wife and I are expecting a baby very soon so I’ve been in full-on project mode. I just added spackle to make everything smooth. Is this OK? Will it crumble in the next five years?
