why did my kitchen turn into a basil jungle overnight?

Last summer, I blinked and suddenly my garden was a basil explosion. I had more leaves than I knew what to do with. My first instinct was to toss handfuls into every pasta and salad, but the supply just kept coming. So, I started making pesto in huge batches and freezing it in ice cube trays. It felt like a little victory every time I popped one out for dinner. Then I got creative—basil lemonade, basil butter, even basil on my morning eggs. Sharing jars of fresh pesto with friends made me weirdly proud. It’s wild how a tiny plant can spark so much joy and creativity. Gardening has totally changed how I cook and eat.
