what happens if you miss your international flight at lax?
Last time I flew back from the US, I booked a domestic flight to LAX that was supposed to give me a comfortable 7-hour layover before my international flight home. I thought I was being smart, but then I started worrying—what if my American Airlines flight gets delayed and I miss my Delta flight out of the country? I’ve heard horror stories about delays and missed connections, especially at big airports like LAX, and honestly, it’s stressing me out.
Has anyone actually had this happen? I keep wondering: if my domestic flight is late and I miss my international one, do the airlines help at all, or am I just out of luck? I booked the flights separately, so I’m not sure if either airline would take responsibility. I’m also not sure if travel insurance covers this kind of mess, or if it’s just a waste of money.
It’s so frustrating—on one hand, I want to save money by booking separate tickets, but on the other, I don’t want to end up stranded in LA with no way home. I feel like there’s always a catch when it comes to flying in the US. Anyone else dealt with this headache?
