the prettiest mountain restaurant in lebanon—worth the hype?
Last summer, we finally made it to this restaurant everyone kept raving about, tucked away in the mountains of Lebanon. The drive was no joke—winding roads, hairpin turns, and my husband kept saying, "Are you sure this is the right way?" We almost turned back twice because the GPS lost signal, but we pushed on. When we finally arrived, the view was breathtaking—rolling green hills, a gentle breeze, and the smell of pine trees everywhere. The restaurant itself looked like something out of a magazine, with stone walls and big windows overlooking the valley.
But here’s the thing: after all that effort, the food was... just okay. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t blow me away either. I kept thinking, did we really drive all this way for this? My back was sore from the car ride, and I was starving, so maybe my expectations were too high. Has anyone else had this happen—where the place is gorgeous but the food just doesn’t match up? I wonder if I should have just packed a picnic and enjoyed the view without the fuss. Sometimes I feel like these "must-visit" spots are more about the photos than the actual experience. Anyone else ever feel a little let down after chasing a recommendation?
