Rec|Adapalene is seriously a miracle for acne-prone skin!

Can’t believe how well it works?? I’m combo-oily and acne-prone. After Chinese New Year (bad diet, not enough sleep), I broke out like crazy — tons of closed comedones and red marks. I’ve been using azelaic acid for 4 years but it stopped working, so I grabbed a tube of adapalene just to try. 🗓️ First use: March 4 — my skin barrier was already sensitive (turned red after washing), but I recklessly applied it to my whole face without building tolerance 😅 didn’t know you were supposed to go slow… 🗓️ March 6-7: Most of the bumps came to a head and turned into visible white pimples — looked awful lol. Also had peeling, so I used a thick moisturizer on dry spots. (PSA: Kiehl’s calendula toner & cream stung like crazy, regret buying the full set 🥲) Kept using azelaic acid during the day + adapalene at night. 🗓️ Now it’s been a week: My cheeks are almost clear! Just working on post-acne marks now. Still a few stubborn spots on my forehead/nose but way better than before. Skin’s drier than usual so I’m moisturizing more, and yeah — dead skin rubs off when applying lotion, but overall super worth it. I’m definitely sticking with it. #beauty#makeup #acneprone #skincarejourney #adapalene #retinoidreview #closedcomedones #purgingphase #acnetips #miracleproduct

8 Years of Skincare, Zero Gimmicks

Been doing this for 8 years — not chasing trends, just trying to keep my skin healthy across Beijing & Shanghai (yes, dry heaters and humid summers both). T-zone oily, U-zone dry. Barrier-sensitive. Not here for 10-step nonsense. Over time, I learned: • Cleansing oil beats everything. • Skip micellar water & double cleansing. I love my barrier too much. • Moisture is underrated. Sometimes five layers of toner > one expensive serum. • Fancy ≠ bad. Sometimes the pricey stuff really does work better. I’m loyal to just a few: – Bobbi Brown oil (simple, clean) – Lumene spray toner (cheap, real hydration) – La Prairie Night Elixir (if I had to keep just one) – Zelens face oil (smells awful, works wonders) – Albion whitening ampoules (rescued me post-sunburn) – Avene Skin Recovery Cream (for winter crisis mode) – La Mer lip balm (gross packaging, amazing texture) I’ve stopped trying new things just for hype. If it doesn’t protect, hydrate, or repair — I don’t need it. Also: if you’re still rubbing micellar water on your face with a cotton pad every night… girl, we need to talk. #beauty#makeup#skincareaddict #beautyroutine #skincaretips #comboSkin #loweffortbeauty #holyGrailProducts #asianBeauty #beautytruths

The Big 3 Cleansing Oils: A Totally Biased Face-Off

(a.k.a. Shu Uemura vs. Bobbi Brown vs. MAC 💧) Tried all three. Loved all three. But here’s how they fight to the death in my bathroom: 🧽 Cleansing power Shu wins hands down. Melts full beat like it’s nothing. Bobbi: solid backup. MAC: fine for daily makeup, but needs help with waterproof stuff. 💦 Skin feel MAC glides like a dream. Bobbi’s nice too. Shu? Slightly more… efficient than luxurious. 👃 Scent MAC has the yummiest smell. Bobbi smells like… not much. Shu smells like competence. 🧼 Bonus round: Blackhead clearing Only Shu puts in the overtime on my nose. Respect. 💸 Value for money? MAC’s the budget queen. She gets the job done and keeps your wallet alive. #beauty #makeup #foundation
