My wife’s pregnant, but my mom’s acting cold—help!
I’ve been married to my wife for a year now, but things have been tense between her and my mom for a long time. We lived with my parents while I finished college, and despite my wife doing all the housework and me working hard during the summer, my mom’s passive aggression never stopped. A few years ago, we moved into our own place, hoping for a fresh start. But last year, the day after our wedding, my mom blocked my wife on social media and told me she didn’t want anything to do with her anymore.
Now, my wife is four months pregnant with our first child, and my mom hasn’t even asked how the pregnancy is going. It’s tough for me, especially being an only child, but I can’t keep letting my mom disrespect my wife. I don’t know how to cope with all of this—any advice?
