Is My Fancy Berry Cleaner Actually Doing Anything?!
Every time I buy raspberries, I get this wave of guilt like I’m not cleaning them enough. I’ve tried everything—vinegar soaks, baking soda, and now this Instagram-famous ionizer gadget that just buzzes in a bowl of water with a pinch of salt. I mean, it looks cool, but is it actually doing anything? No clue. The thing is, after all that soaking and rinsing, my berries get mushy and spoil faster. Drying them is a whole process too—paper towels everywhere, and still, they never seem as perky as when I first brought them home.
At this point, I’m honestly questioning if all these extra steps are just clever marketing or if I’m just being paranoid. Sometimes I just rinse and eat, and nothing bad happens. But then I see another viral post about pesticides and freak out again. I wish there was a straight answer. Is a quick rinse enough, or am I missing something? Because my berries are not surviving these spa treatments.
