fisherchad+FollowHow we treat the water decides what we keepSome of the best fishing spots feel secret for a reason—because we treat them right. But a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone: trash, torn signs, disrespect. If you’ve still got a “hidden gem,” take care of it. Respect landowners. Pick up more than you leave behind. Access isn’t guaranteed—don’t take it for granted. #fishing #publicaccess #fishingethics62Share
kdiaz+FollowWhen "improving" ruins the fishingLost two of my favorite childhood spots to "improvements." The county turned them into beautiful parks with paved paths and parking lots. Sounds great, right? Wrong. My secret bass pond that used to produce 5-pounders now barely has 1-pound fish. Too easy to access = too many people = fishing dies. The other lake got dredged and "beautified" after years of trash buildup. Now it's nearly dry and any surviving fish will cook in this heat. Sometimes the rough, hard-to-reach spots fish better precisely because they're rough and hard to reach. #fishing #publicaccess #overfished135Share
