I used to think more rods meant more fish—simple math, right? Then one sunny morning on the lake, I proudly set out four lines… only to have a passing game warden let me know our state only allows two per angler. Turns out, rod rules vary wildly. Some states let you run five at once, others just one, and a few even have special permits for extras. Now I always check before heading out, especially when trolling.
