We’re landing at SFO from Hawaii at 7 in the morning, and our next flight isn’t until 11 at night. That’s a whopping 16 hours to kill, and honestly, I’m already dreading how tired I’ll be. I tried checking hotels and Airbnbs, but they all want us to check in at 3 or 4pm—what’s up with that? I just want a place to crash for a few hours, not a full night! I thought about just wandering around the city, but after a long flight, dragging our suitcases through San Francisco’s hills sounds like a recipe for sore backs and cranky moods. Plus, I’m not exactly keen on napping on a park bench or in a noisy café. Have any of you found a decent spot to rest near SFO or downtown? Maybe a day-use hotel or a quiet lounge? I’m looking for somewhere that doesn’t break the bank but also doesn’t feel like I’m camping out in a bus station. It’s funny—airports are open 24/7, but finding a place to actually rest in between flights feels impossible. Anyone else run into this problem?
