the floating dock summers

Every summer as a kid, we camped at this little pond because it was all we could afford. In the middle sat a floating dock, and that’s where everything happened—learning to dive, making friends from other towns, even my first awkward truth-or-dare nights. Fireflies, frogs, cheap fishing rods… nothing fancy, but it felt like magic.
