Little changes that stopped my reel tangles for good

Last spring, I nearly quit fishing after my spinning reel kept spewing loops and tangles every few casts. After a few frustrating weekends, I figured out my main mistakes: 1️⃣ Pack your spool tight – Loose line is a tangle factory. Keep tension when spooling (I pinch the line with my fingers, glove for braid). 2️⃣ Don’t overfill – Leave a few millimeters from the spool lip; too much line wants to jump off. 3️⃣ Match line size to your reel – Heavy line on a tiny spool or ultralight braid on a big reel = trouble. 4️⃣ Stop line twist early – Never reel when the drag’s running, and use a swivel with spinners.
