Help plz｜My skin looks worse  with  makeup than without 😭

Bare-faced my skin looks kinda glowy and smooth, but once I put on foundation… boom, texture everywhere 🥲 It somehow makes my skin look worse — like bumpy or dry even when I prep. Anyone else have this?? Is it the wrong product? Bad technique?
