๐Ÿšจ NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE โ€” OHIO MAN ASKS FOR MORE PRISON TIMEโ€ฆ AND GETS IT Youngstown, Ohio โ€” You really canโ€™t make this stuff up. A judge with more than 30 years on the bench said he had never seen anything like it. But 27-year-old Kenneth Newton went ahead and made history in his courtroom. Newton was there to plead guilty to two fourth-degree felony counts of assault and one count of aggravated menacing after attacking two deputies inside the Mahoning County Jail. According to investigatorsโ€” ๐Ÿ‘‰ He bit both deputies while they were escorting him to an elevator So this wasnโ€™t exactly a minor incident. As part of a plea agreement, Newton was set to receive: ๐Ÿ‘‰ 12 months in prison Pretty standard. But thenโ€” He did something no one expected. ๐Ÿ‘‰ He asked the judge for more time ๐Ÿ‘‰ Specifically, 18 months instead of 12 The judge pausedโ€ฆ and even asked if this was some kind of April Fools joke. It wasnโ€™t. Newton was serious. And in a move that probably left everyone in that courtroom shaking their headsโ€” ๐Ÿ‘‰ The judge granted the request Newton reportedly said he wanted the extra time so he could take advantage of vocational and counseling programs while in prison. So instead of trying to get out soonerโ€ฆ He asked to stay longer. And got his wish. Now hereโ€™s where it gets even more interestingโ€” Newton had already been sentenced earlier this year in a separate case to: ๐Ÿ‘‰ 2 to 3 years in prison for felonious assault And this new sentence? ๐Ÿ‘‰ Will run consecutively Meaning he just added even more time to what he was already facing. So while most people are trying to shave time off a sentenceโ€ฆ This guy walked in and said, โ€œActuallyโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll take a little extra.โ€ And the court saidโ€”okay. Only in Ohioโ€ฆ and apparently, only on April Fools. #OhioNews #BreakingNews #TrueCrime #CourtUpdate #MahoningCounty #OnlyInOhio #YouCantMakeThisUp Source: WBOY | WKBN | Court records

Rapper Pooh Shiesty and his father are among nine suspects arrested for kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane and two others at a recording studio in Dallas in January. Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., is signed to Gucci Mane's label, 1017 Records. The U.S. Department of Justice said the incident was an "armed takeover" in which Williams forced Gucci to sign a release from a recording contract at gunpoint. Gucci Mane and two others traveled to Dallas on January 10 for what they thought was a business meeting arranged by Shiesty. Instead, all nine defendants traveled from Memphis to Dallas to kidnap and rob them. The suspects also robbed the men of cash, Rolex watches, and jewelry. ๐Ÿšจ GANNON STAUCH CASE SHOCKER โ€” LETECIA STAUCH GRANTED NEW TRIAL AFTER CONVICTION OVERTURNED Colorado โ€” This case just took a turn no one expected. Letecia Stauch, 42, who was serving life without parole for the murder of her 11-year-old stepson Gannon Stauch, has now been granted a new trial. An appeals court found a serious issue with the jury that decided her fate. She was convicted in May 2023 of first-degree murder and evidence tampering after pleading not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming she suffered from dissociative identity disorder. Jurors deliberated for nearly eight hours over two days before finding her guilty. The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that a juror should never have been allowed to serve. That juror had a connection to the El Paso County District Attorneyโ€™s Office โ€” the same office prosecuting the case. The trial judge allowed him to stay. But the appeals court said that decision was based on a misunderstanding of the law and confirmed that juror did participate in deliberations. Gannon was reported missing on January 27, 2020, after Stauch told authorities he hadnโ€™t come home. Investigators said her story kept changing and that she refused to cooperate. During trial, prosecutors said Gannon was killed that same day with such force that blood soaked through his mattress, carpet, and into the concrete. Detectives said his body was moved through the house, loaded into a vehicle, and dumped. His remains were later found inside a suitcase under a Florida bridge. He had a fractured skull, a gunshot wound, multiple sharp-force injuries, and defensive wounds. Now the conviction has been overturned. A new trial will be scheduled, but no date has been set yet. #LeteciaStauch #GannonStauch #BreakingNews #TrueCrime #JusticeForGannon #CourtUpdate Source: Colorado Court of Appeals | Trial records|
