I can't even imagine making the choice Moses' mother made I was reflecting on the families in the Bible and Jochebed's story completely wrecked me. We sing cute children's songs about baby Moses floating in a basket. But the reality? She wove that basket through tears. She placed her newborn son into the crocodile-infested currents of the Nile River because holding onto him meant certain execution. She couldn't protect him anvmore. She had to literally let him go into the dangerous unknown, trusting that God's hands were better than hers Surrendering the people we love to God is terrifying. We want to control outcomes and keep them safe.
