why did my hydrangeas suddenly explode with color this spring?

Last year, I planted hydrangeas in my backyard, hoping for a little pop of color. I picked a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, thinking they’d love it. I tossed in some compost and made sure the soil drained well. Fast forward to this spring, and wow—my hydrangeas went wild! The blooms are huge and super bright. I water them deeply once a week, and that seems to keep them happy. It’s wild how a little mulch and the right spot can make such a difference.
