I Thought I Was Protecting Us

I used to read every label twice. Organic everything. Glass bottles only. I thought if I controlled enough variables, I could keep us safe. Then I learned about the arsenic. In apple juice. The one thing I gave my kids without guilt. I'd been so careful about sugar, about additives, about everything I could see. But the poison was invisible. Natural. Already in the soil before the apples even grew. I spent three years measuring tablespoons and checking ingredient lists. None of it mattered. The thing I thought was pure wasn't. Now I pour the juice anyway. Because perfect doesn't exist. Because I can't test every sip. Because sometimes protecting them means letting go of the illusion that I ever had control. #CleanEatingAnxiety #ControlIsExhausting #FoodFear #Health #Diet

This Marry Me Chicken Pasta Recipe Lives Up to the Hype

This creamy chicken pasta is absolutely worth the buzz everyone's talking about. Season chicken breasts with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Get your salted water boiling in a separate pot. Cook the chicken in oil over medium heat, flipping every 2 minutes until fully cooked through. Chop half an onion and 3 garlic cloves. Remove chicken, then sauté onions in the same pan. Add garlic until golden and fragrant. Drop your fettuccini into the boiling water. Pour in 1 cup chicken broth, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, 1/3 cup heavy cream, red pepper flakes, and fresh parmesan to the pan. Return chicken to pan, baste with sauce, cover and simmer 5 minutes. Slice chicken, mix pasta with sauce, then plate with extra parmesan on top. #marrymechieken #creamypasta #chickenrecipes #Food #Cooking

A Dinner Encounter With French Romance😍 Chapeau

Lovely French restaurant for a date night with delicious food. We loved everything we ordered here! Definitely make a reservation (you can even get a same day reservation through open table); we were seated immediately on time when we arrived for ours. The salmon trio was an amazing appetizer - so good if you like raw salmon. The escargot was a little salty for me, but I'm not a huge escargot fan to begin with haha. The pork tenderloin was so delicious, and the texture on the pork and filet mignon was perfect. Their entrees have lots of layered complex flavors! The crème brûlée was a solid dessert, but my partner could not stop talking about how good the French toast was afterward. The service was also amazing; I felt that there was a lot of attention to detail, and we were greeted very warmly by (I think?) the owner, and he even ran outside to say bye when we left! On a Sunday dinner, it was easy to find parking; there are many metered spots on the street and some free street parking on the off streets as well.

I Thought Baking Soda Would Fix It

Last night, I stood in the kitchen, staring at the box of baking soda. I’d read somewhere it could help with bloating. I didn’t bother dissolving it—just tipped a spoonful into my mouth and swallowed, desperate for relief from a body I’m always trying to shrink or soothe. Ten hours later, my stomach twisted with cramps and regret. I kept searching for answers online, but what I really wanted was reassurance that I hadn’t done something stupid—again. I’m not sure what hurts more: my gut or the way I keep chasing quick fixes, hoping they’ll quiet the noise in my head. It’s never just about the food. It’s the ache of wanting to feel okay in my own skin, even for a moment. #FoodGuilt #ControlIsExhausting #BodyCheckChronicles #Health #Diet
