Almost poisoned myself foraging last week 😅

Fellow hunters, reality check time... Was on a 3-day hunt, ran low on food by day 2. Went to grab some berries for emergency rations and almost picked the wrong ones - waxy leaves saved me from a toxic mistake. Made me realize my foraging safety knowledge got rusty. 🍄 Golden rule: If you can't 100% ID it, don't eat it. Those "similar looking" mushrooms? They're not worth the ER visit when you're miles from help. 🌿 Red flags: Milky sap, umbrella flowers, waxy leaves = nope. Your gut feeling is usually right. 🏭 Location matters: Stay away from roadsides and industrial areas. Plants are like sponges for all that nasty stuff. Anyone else combining summer scouting with foraging? #hunting #foragingtips #huntingseasonprep #wildedibles

I Thought Baking Soda Would Fix It

Last night, I stood in the kitchen, staring at the box of baking soda. I’d read somewhere it could help with bloating. I didn’t bother dissolving it—just tipped a spoonful into my mouth and swallowed, desperate for relief from a body I’m always trying to shrink or soothe. Ten hours later, my stomach twisted with cramps and regret. I kept searching for answers online, but what I really wanted was reassurance that I hadn’t done something stupid—again. I’m not sure what hurts more: my gut or the way I keep chasing quick fixes, hoping they’ll quiet the noise in my head. It’s never just about the food. It’s the ache of wanting to feel okay in my own skin, even for a moment. #FoodGuilt #ControlIsExhausting #BodyCheckChronicles #Health #Diet

Jasmine Tea at Home: Fragrant & Fresh!

Pour half your loose leaf green or black tea into a big glass jar. I like using green tea for a lighter flavor, but black tea works too. Cover the tea with a layer of fresh jasmine flowers. You can find these at nurseries or even grow your own for the freshest scent. Add the rest of your tea leaves on top, then gently tap the jar to even it out. Place a small weight (like a can) on top, seal the jar, and let it sit for at least 24 hours. The longer you wait, the stronger the jasmine aroma gets—up to three weeks if you want it super fragrant. When you’re ready, remove the weight and flowers, then store your tea in a cool, dark spot. To brew, boil filtered water, add a heaping teaspoon of your jasmine tea, and steep for 5-7 minutes. Strain and enjoy while it’s hot! #JasmineTea #TeaLovers #DIYTea #Food #Cooking
