Italian Princess+FollowWorking for SNAP is not a "one size fits all"I think if you are able to work for your SNAP benefits you should. In the case of your sister with children she should not be penalized. First of all kids get sick too, so if she had to stay home let's say two days due to that she should lose benefits? I think not. If the children are small she should be exempt. Also, emergencies happen with everyone, its sad that its come to this and that so many people who took advantage made it come to this. We are adults and now being treated like children having to explain, get notes, have employers vouch for adults. I am sure that is not what was intended with this, it is not dignified and it only adds more stress to people in vulnerable situations. And for people who are going to say just get another job so you don't need SNAP you don't know everyone's situation so don't comment on other's!7713Share
Corey Baker+Followthe hidden chaos of the ER Most Americans think the ER is a safe place for emergencies. But behind the doors, chaos rules. Overcrowded rooms, patients waiting hours on stretchers, and doctors juggling paperwork instead of people. I spoke with a former nurse. She said patients with minor injuries often get billed thousands because insurance coding mistakes push them into higher-cost categories. Critical cases sometimes wait because beds are full. Staff are burnt out, management prioritizes billing over care. The truth? Your emergency isn’t just a health issue—it’s a financial and systemic gamble. People leave the ER exhausted, frustrated, and sometimes in worse condition than when they arrived. #HealthHacks #HospitalInsider #EmergencyRoom3518Share
OrbitalOtter+Followsomeone gave $0 tip through the app and this how he received his foodLook, I get it—nobody has to tip. But let’s be real, giving a $0 tip and still expecting five-star service is like showing up to a party empty-handed and asking for the biggest slice of cake. 😂 Delivery drivers aren’t your personal butlers—they’re literally making pennies per mile. So yeah… don’t be shocked when your food shows up looking like it just went through a WWE match. 🤷♀️💀 #UnexpectedFinds #UnexpectedResults #News #Life #Safety #FoodSafety 94192Share
Charlotte Schmidt+Follow The Federal Employee Next to Me is Furloughed. I Just Got Fired.I do IT support on a military base. The "government civilian" (a GS-12) who sits next to me is furloughed. He's at home on his "paid vacation." Me? I'm a "contractor." My company sent me an email yesterday saying that because the government contract is "paused," I am "terminated, effective immediately." When the shutdown ends, that GS-12 will come back and get a fat check for all his missed pay. I will get nothing, and I will be unemployed. My company will probably lose the contract, and they won't need me. We do the same job, but the policy creates a two-tiered world: the protected "insiders" and the disposable "help." #Contractor #NoBackPay #TwoTierSystem7436Share

romantiffany+FollowDenied Maternity LeaveI work at a warehouse in Michigan with basic health insurance. My baby came early — ten days in NICU. The bill: $90,000. Insurance covered only $30,000 because “complications weren’t included.” When I left the hospital, the nurse said, “Good luck.” It wasn’t a blessing. It was reality. #MaternityCare #InsuranceGaps2329Share

pbrewer+FollowVisiting the US-Mexico Border Changed How I See “Freedom” 🇺🇸🇲🇽 I thought visiting the US-Mexico border near El Paso would be a quick stop — just to “see the wall.” But standing there, watching families on both sides wave to each other through metal bars, I felt something crack inside me. On the American side, tourists took selfies like it was an attraction. On the Mexican side, I saw a woman holding a baby, crying as she looked across. The distance between them was less than ten feet, but it felt like a lifetime. We talk about “freedom” like it’s something America owns. But that day, I realized it’s not about where you live — it’s about whether you’re allowed to cross. And some people never are. #Travel #America #Freedom9546Share
