why does my dog stare at me like i owe him dinner?

Every evening, my dog sits across from me and gives me the most intense stare, like he’s waiting for a five-star meal. I swear, he’s got the patience of a saint but the eyes of a detective. I’m still figuring out the best way to care for him, especially when it comes to feeding times. How do you all handle those pleading looks?
