My Cat Got Roasted by My Friend’s Mom

So, I brought my rescue cat, Noodle, to my friend’s house for the first time. Her mom took one look and said, “Why does your cat look so… miserable? Did you pick him up from a dumpster?” Honestly, I was stunned. Noodle’s a bit scruffy, sure, but he’s got character! I tried to laugh it off, but it stung. Later, my friend texted, “Sorry, my mom’s just blunt.” Now I keep replaying it in my head. Is Noodle really that weird-looking? Should I have defended him more?
