Adopting a Senior Cat: Am I Ready for This?

So, there’s this 11-year-old cat at the shelter who’s basically a local legend. Two years in a tiny room, watching younger cats come and go. Her human passed away, and now she’s stuck in limbo, quietly judging everyone from her favorite perch. I keep thinking: if I don’t take her, who will? She’s not a kitten, she’s got a bit of an attitude, and her hobbies include napping and ignoring people. But honestly, same. Maybe we’d get along. I’m not sure if I’m rescuing her or if she’s rescuing me from another year of scrolling past sad shelter posts. Is it wild to bring home a cat who’s seen more of life than I have? Maybe. But someone’s gotta give her a soft landing. Why not me? Anyone else adopted a senior pet? Tell me it’s worth it.
