Loyalty or Leverage? My Two Weeks Turned Into Two Days 😳

So, here's my situation: I finally landed an external offer with a huge pay bump—$91k to $125k! I thought my current company, a massive Fortune 100, would at least try to keep me. Instead, they basically told me that "money doesn’t matter" and I should just be loyal. The irony, right? I put in my two weeks, but suddenly HR and upper management decided I should either resign immediately or burn my PTO and leave next Friday. They even refused to put anything in writing. My manager seemed as confused as I was, especially since I just got a mountain of new tasks. Now I’m stuck: Should I just walk away? Can I refuse to resign and force their hand? If they fire me, can I get unemployment for that week before my new job starts? My old boss says I should push back and ask for the same courtesy I gave them. Is there a better way out of this mess? I’m honestly at a loss and could really use some advice from anyone who’s been here before. 😩 #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceDrama #JobTransition #JobCareer
