Save Money: Debone Chicken Breasts at Home

Make sure your chicken breast is fully thawed—deboning frozen chicken is just a mess. Place the chicken skin side up on a clean cutting board. If there’s extra wing or leg meat, trim it off. Slice lengthwise into the thickest part to find the breastbone. Use a sharp chef’s knife for smooth cuts. Peel off the skin with your fingers or cut it if needed. Locate the bone running down the middle. Slide your knife along one side of the bone, scraping gently to separate the meat. Repeat on the other side. Remove any extra fat, skin, or cartilage.
