Any luck squirrel hunting in summer?

In the summer heat, at least around here, squirrels get wolves. Which is mountain people call the bot-fly larva that get in squirrels skin. I was always taught not to eat squirrel meat until the weather cools and the larva develop and leave the squirrels skin. Or after 1st frost or cold snap.

don't hunt squirrels in summer they are having their babies and raiding bird feeders to store stuff for winter I buy bags of peanuts for them and walnuts and a lot of sunflower seeds
