Everyone says Watkins Glen is a must-see, but no one talks about the way the stone steps chew up your knees or how the waterfalls drown out your thoughts until you’re just left with yourself, damp and out of breath. I went because I thought I needed a break from the city, but the crowds here are their own kind of noise. Still, there’s a moment—right after the 19th staircase, when the mist hits your face and you catch a glimpse of sunlight cutting through the gorge—where you realize you’re not escaping anything. You’re just moving it around. Worth a visit? Sure. Just don’t expect it to fix you. #Travel #TravelTruths #NatureUnfiltered
