Am I the only one who finds baitcasters meh?

Been using baitcasters for a year now - they're decent but not the game-changer everyone claims. Key lesson: cast slower! Light rigs need gentle casts, not aggressive whips like spinning reels. Also learned light line (<20lb braid) digs into the spool and causes backlash, so I stick to spinners for that. Same distance, way less headache.
