I just hit 66 and finally retired, thanks to my 100% VA disability and solid SSI. My wife, also turning 66, still clings to her small housecleaning job, even though it barely adds to our income. We always dreamed of hitting the road in our RV once we both retired, and now we have everything lined up—except her willingness to let go of work. I’ve tried to explain that we’re financially secure and that waiting could mean missing out on adventures we’ve planned for years. But she keeps hesitating, and I’m at a loss. I see so many people wait too long and never get to enjoy retirement. Has anyone else faced this? How did you convince your partner to take the leap?
