The Beach Was Beautiful. I Wasn’t Okay.

Palawan is supposed to be paradise. Turquoise water, limestone cliffs, that filtered light you see in every travel post. I took the boat tour, smiled for the photos, tried to feel lucky. But under the surface, I was tired—of moving, of pretending I was living some dream. I watched couples pose on the sand, and I wondered if anyone else felt this hollow ache. I thought maybe a new place would fill it. It didn’t. I still scrolled through old messages at night, still felt the same weight in my chest. Palawan is beautiful. But beauty isn’t a cure.
