Everyone posts the photo from Preikestolen: the cliff, the fjord, the sky that looks edited. I took the same shot, but I barely remember holding my phone. The hike up was silent except for my own breathing and the crunch of boots behind me. At the top, people gasped, laughed, took selfies. I just sat down and stared, waiting to feel something big. Relief? Awe? Instead, it was like watching someone else’s life from behind glass. I kept thinking: I came all this way for this? Sometimes the world is beautiful and you’re still just tired.
