Boston drivers, things are about to change: the MBTA is rolling out bus-mounted cameras to catch and fine anyone blocking bus stops or bus lanes. Fines start at $25 for the first bus lane offense and jump to $100 if you’re caught blocking a bus stop. Repeat offenders and commercial vehicles face even steeper penalties. The goal isn’t to rake in cash, but to finally clear the way for buses and speed up commutes. All footage gets deleted after 120 days, and privacy rules are in place. Do you think this will actually keep bus lanes clear, or will drivers just treat it as another parking ticket? #Transportation #Boston #MBTA
