I adopted 2 kittens from my yard in late summer of 2020–as the cat who I assumed was their Mother watched me. They were weaned and I think she was ready to be done with them. I wanted to catch her but she quickly vanished.????? One kitten was friendly -a boy. The 2nd was frightened & wouldn’t let me touch it. Well, on March 15th -I woke up to see that the “untouchable” one was in a cat condo with 4 kittens attached to her nipples.🙀 It’s how I learned she was a female🤪. Mama moved those babies four different times over the next few months. I tried crating them & boxing them to keep them away from my other cats—who were, of course —CURIOUS. Mama was ADAMANT that she was in charge and I just began to follow her lead! With each move, I provided bedding, etc in each spot. She let me check on and pet the babies—BUT NOT HER. She’d leave for a bit and return when I departed. My main concern was that the kittens were nurtured and safe. Months later, I’m still trying to nab her so I can spay!
