Valley Forge wasn’t a battle. It was survival. No heat. No food. No shoes. Just frostbitten men who chose to stay. Washington didn’t have the most men. Or the best weapons. And we won the Revolutionary War because of the support of France and Spain. The French navy actively engaged British ships, protecting American ports and troop movements. Before formally declaring war, Spain provided covert aid to the colonies, including weapons, supplies, and financial assistance. We have never done it alone!

Headline is misleading and short essay is incomplete. First, there were no rifles- just muskets - big difference. Secondly, England was over committed in wars with France and protecting other trade routes and other global colonies. France entering the war with the American colonists was the difference.

Valley Forge had little to do with winning the war. Yorktown which was won with rifles, French Troops, the cannon, mortars and a French blockade won the war.
