Job Ghosting Is Finally Getting Called Out

You know that feeling when you go through endless interviews and then...nothing? Ontario just made it illegal for companies to ghost job applicants. Now, if you interview, they have to tell you if you got the job (or not) within 45 days. Gen Z is celebrating on TikTok, showing off their rejection spreadsheets and calling out recruiters. Maybe the era of job ghosting is finally over—at least in Canada. Can we get this everywhere, please? #JobCareer #JobSearch #Recruiting

Let's also call out the applicants who no call no show to interviews, or to their first day, or don't answer their phones when called, and have every excuse under the sun why they can get to work or the best is every previous job that is short term was temporary.. lol.. YADA, YADA, YADA.

Good as they should be. Potential employers can be very rude and unprofessional. So they can have you wait to hear back from them and waste your time. But they expect a thank you email for meeting with them. Umm yes no. They don’t deserve that curtesy. Sorry not sorry.

I will say the State of California CalJobs program seems to have a feature where when hiring person decides on person X, all of the other interviewees get a "Dear John" letter. At least they know they didn't get it.
