My kaibab hunt was a comedy of errors 💩

it doesn't get much worse than that, I think after the toilet thing I would have grabbed my bottle of whiskey said and to hell with it

Drove way back in , late in the night before opening morning . Spent the night in the back of my Suburban , slept late , got out took a leak , lit a cigarette . Looked around , OMG , giant buck . Un cased 30-06, haven’t shot in two years . Barefoot boxers , put out my cigarette . Shot one of the best mule deer I’ve ever taken .

Mine started immediately with carburetor problems which I fixed while on the road to my unit. Then a broken flex plate in payson so I got one from a wrecking yard and took it to my campsite to install it on my 1974 Chevy 4x4 pickup. Ended up with the wrong part so I put the old one back on and got a brand new one and put it on in a field behind the Napa where I bought it. Then a branch fell and ripped the tent. Then a freeze plug failed behind the driver side motor mount and I jacked up the motor and replaced it. Finally got to hunt for an hour and saw a big bull elk about 100 feet away from me during deer season with a deer tag in my pocket. After that I’d had enough of it all and had to leave that day anyway so I never saw any deer until I was on my way home with my rifle behind the seat and a whole herd of deer ran across the road with some nice bucks. Never expected that due to the misery of the whole trip. They were gone before I could get my gun out. Lesson learned .☹️

I've been skunked the last 4 times out, but it's okay, I was out in the weeds where it feels like home.
