Job Interview Red Flags You Can't Ignore

I interviewed for a job about 5 years ago and thought it went well. But they ghosted me. I knew one of the interviewers, he, my son, and I had all worked for the same firm at one time. I called them several times, finally got hold of him after 3 or 4 tries and he just said that they couldn’t hire anyone now. I’m now working for a much smaller company, (by several orders of magnitude) and ironically they’re one of our larger customers, and I deal with them on an almost daily basis.

I've conducted hundreds of job interviews and I never understood the dancing around pay. I understand if it's a little higher level salary position where there may be some negotiation but those typically come with an understanding on both sides of what the market rate is for said position. However if it's an entry level hourly rate position, I always come out with a number on the first 10 minutes of an interview ESPECIALLY if I think it's below what a candidate will accept based on their resume, why waste both of our time going through the entire interview if the money just will absolutely not work?
