Learned this approach from western hunters and it changed everything. Instead of picking a magnum and finding bullets, I started with the 127gr Barnes LRX that expands reliably at 1800 fps. Ran the numbers - 6.5 Creedmoor pushes this bullet to 2000 fps at 600 yards, perfect for my 400-yard max. Lighter recoil means better accuracy than magnums, especially for longer shots. Modern bullets perform way better than old-school thinking suggests. That's why guys are dropping elk with 6mm Creedmoors now. Sometimes "enough gun" is actually less gun with the right bullet. The competition world proved magnums in lightweight rifles hurt accuracy more than help. #hunting #huntinggear #bulletselection #huntingtips #rifles #ethicalhunting
