The 5-90-5 Rule Every Hunter Should Know

I hunt state ground and my rule is if at all possible, carry out more than I carried in. I don't leave trash and I pick up any I see and pack it out. I even try to find my 22cal casings. I'm a firm believer that most hunters care about the environment than the left tree huggers

I believe this is subjective to your demographic. Alabama has a 4 month season, 2 deer a day. It's a big part of our culture!

99% of hunters are going to respect public, private, all land they hunt on and also they are mostly respectful. Unless you buy a piece of land they've been hunting for generations and tell a friend he can hunt it which is fine. then you get permission to hunt it to and ask only to hunt it on youth day for your 11 year old nephew. The friend they gave permission to sends 2 of his friends up there on youth day. That technically aren't supposed to be up there according to the land ower, only he had permission. That punk doesn't want to see me anywhere there's not cameras at night he'll be going for a ride in the meat wagon and never navigating the woods easily again. Oh yeah they didn't scout and find spots to hunt. Just went and set treestands and blinds up right where all ours were. Then if they saw my truck in the parking spot would come running up through there right at the time deer would be moving just to screw me and my nephew up. Scumbags!

I agree with the author.. ask yourself.. would you want a hunter around that left trash laying around.. I have seen it too many times on public hunting land.. disgusting... not hunters, just a few (very few) drunks with high-powered firearms.. noisy in the woods.. give all hunter a bad rap..

Every year a group of 8 of us would ride the trails on public land 2 weeks before season and pick up bags of trash left by the summer pleasure riders. Pack it in and pack it out!

we see it everywhere we go people from other states people from other places leave their trash their fire their Campground looking like crap I just bought land and I will not let any private hunting go on other than myself that's because people push the limits too far but it's funny how they all think it the private property owners are unfair

I think the bag limits on deer is insane. No one needs 3 or 4 deer esp when over hlf the meat goes to waist and gets thrown away. I'm sure some people use it all or give it away but most hunters I kno will literally fill 2 freezers every year and still have 90% of what they shot the year before and throw it out to make room for new. Its ridiculous
