Would you pick up your kid from camp?

I'd talk to an adult at the camp and get their perspective. I'd ask them to get involved and see if they could help. I'd tell my daughter I was working on it, and to please call me tomorrow and let me know how she's feeling. I'd try and get her to wait it out a little bit. However, if she remained miserable, I'd go pick her up.

This happened to us and my son was 7 hours away in FL. Kids were going through his things and he was feeling left out. My husband went and picked him up. Don’t regret it a bit. Since then my son shares more and talks more. He knows we are always there for him up. The next summer he stayed the entire week.

This was me at 12. My Girl Scout camp was much closer to my home, and I had a friend in my tent. My 20ish Camp leader, however, was a person who was difficult. In 2 weeks, I never saw a smile from her. I was homesick. But, I stuck it out. I focused on some fun activities and some really good food. I learned that nothing is forever. But, I was sure glad to see my Mom and Dad.
